I have to study seriously now...

Tbh the drawing that made me want to use color more appropriately was Bacun's last drawing he posted on bluesky :

It's super simple yet beautiful. I picked some colors from his drawing in my drawing app and it's crazy to see that the color he used for the sky isn't really that bright. It's just that he used the right colors to make the scene brighter... he used value!


I don't know how to make sense of it, but how we see color depends on the lighting, the shading, the ambience, the reflection, etc.... that's just crazy. Color is crazy...

So if i want to draw beautiful and colorful art and characters, I have to know exactly what color I'll use, and why, and not throw whatever colors and hide the mess with random blend modes and gradients...
